We believe preventative education work with all children and young people is essential to challenge attitudes and send out a clear message that domestic abuse is unacceptable. Preventative education approaches can also sign post children and young people to support services and give them clear messages that:
There is nothing so awful (or so small) we can’t talk with someone
We have been delivering preventative education programmes at primary and post primary levels since 1996. These programmes present an early intervention for those who may be experiencing domestic abuse and those who may be at risk. We are very proud of what we have achieved and in particular the success we have had with the roll out of our primary level programme Helping Hands for Children.
