We are committed to being the best we can be for children and young people… because we believe they deserve the best. We recognise that most often the best way to support children and young people is to support their mothers/carers through the provision of a range of services, including refuge provision and support in the community. That being said, we also recognise the need for more focused support for children and young people and we have a range of specialist, trauma informed support services and programmes, specifically designed to meet the needs of children and young people who have been affected by domestic abuse.
We aim to provide a safe place for every child/young person who uses our services, a place where they can get support without stigma. We provide high quality services, including, refuge, one to one support, group work and fun social activities to support them, help them to explore their feelings when they are ready and have fun in a safe environment.
We want their experience of Women’s Aid NI to be positive, supportive and one they will remember positively for the rest of their lives.
