Summary

The aim of this training is to provide attendees with an understanding and awareness of domestic abuse how it impacts upon children and young people.

Purpose

This course will aim to equip attendees with the confidence and knowledge to respond to children and young people who are impacted by domestic abuse. To be able to deal with disclosures effectively, safeguard children and young people and share sensitive information safely and appropriately. This course will provide valuable information on specialist support services and referral pathways.

Who needs it?

Open to any professional, student or individual who supports children and young people who may be affected by domestic abuse.
Increased knowledge and understanding of attachment theory and impact of trauma on brain development for children. Gained confidence in relation to responding to disclosures.
We can educate Mum better on information and her rights to safeguard children. Be more confident in working with children and representing. 
Understand the language used in the child protection arena and be able to pass this on to clients who may be confused about this. Also to support clients better in understanding signs of trauma in their children and what support can be put in place.
